Finca Catoex is located in the Cañada region of Oaxaca, where the rugged highland terrain at 1,200 to 1,700 meters provides ideal conditions for growing Typica - one of the oldest and most prized coffee varietals. Producer Mauricio Muguira oversees the farm, maintaining the washed processing tradition that brings out the clean, sweet character Oaxacan coffee is known for. The Cañada region has deep roots in Zapotec and Mixtec coffee cultivation, with small farms growing shade-grown coffee under the forest canopy for over a century.
